Drexel Hertiage Furniture

The style of this cabinet is what's referred to as "the Federal Revival Style". This style was extremely popular, produced during the turn of the 19th Century, the 1930's and again in the 1950's. Furniture of this style was produced by nearly every major North American furniture manufacturer, this one was made Circa 1970 by Drexel Heritage.

Drexel and Heritage operated as two separate units until about 1968 when U.S. Plywood Champion Papers purchased Drexel Enterprises, and the company became Drexel Heritage Furnishings, Inc. Anything with a "Drexel Heritage" marking is going to post date that merger. Furniture like this was mass produced and currently there is a lot of it coming on the market as Baby Boomers downsize and retire. This means values for Drexel Heritage and demand are modest considering the replacement cost with new furniture of even lesser quality.
