French Vintner's Table

Tables like these tend to be difficult to date without actually physically examining them, as the design dates back to the 1700's and has been in constant reproduction since the late 19th Century. This one is a 19th Century French "Vintner's table", getting its name from the fact these portable folding tables were often used for wine tastings.

Based on what I can see this one is Provincial piece constructed of pine, better or more elaborate examples were often constructed of walnut or fruitwood. They are currently popular decorating items and rarely go at auction for less than $500.00, one like this would sell in the $500.00- $800.00 range.
