Painted Georgian

Painted cabinets like this tend to date from the second quarter of the 20th Century and are often a mix of 18th to early 19th Century styles. This one is loosely based on the Hepplewhite style, which was originally popular during the late 18th Century. The style of Late Georgian furniture goes through periods of popular revival about every 30 years it seems, but currently values for furniture of this type demand tends to be modest, as the painted finish often does not match existing rooms or modern decorating. Currently at auction a comparable piece would sell for about $250.00
