Ybry of Paris was founded by Simon Jaroslawski in 1925 , his perfume was advertised "the most expensive in the world", which was likely a cause of Jaroslawski's personal bankruptcy in 1932. The original Ybry brand name however continued to exist in the USA until the 1940s. The bottles were made by Baccarat, the bottles layered with colored glass over crystal. Each colored bottle contained a different fragrance, they were made in red, pink, green, black, orange and purple.
In recent years values for these bottles ramped up, in 2011 at Christies “Les Collections du Château de Gourdon sale in Paris, values went through the roof. Three of thelarger size Ybry of Paris bottles sold for over five times their presale estimates for $8874, $8874, and $11,537 , possibly a result of their provenance or a number of serious collectors at the sale. Since that time values have taken a bit of tumble, the pair shown above sold at auction late last year for $1500.00.
